In order to support the growing number of site installations around the country, triggered in part by an ongoing monitoring system project with Health and Human Services (HHS), Paragon Robotics has multiplied its team of on-site regional field technicians to help customers with site surveys, installs and maintenance. Although Paragon Robotics’s main offices are based in Ohio, field techs from Florida to California have been added to the sales and support team to help cover all areas of the United States.
Paragon Robotics partners with Ameresco and Department of Defense on energy efficiency and savings ESTCP government contracts.
Per a recently awarded contract extension by the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP), an environmental program funded by the Department of Defense (DoD), Paragon Robotics will continue its energy-saving work at DoD installations at Tinker Air Force base located near Oklahoma City, OK. This contract began in 2018, and has been continued up through 2022 in order to fully test the limits and benefits of constantly-evolving microgrid technologies.
Part of a partnership with Ameresco, a leading renewable energy company and energy efficiency company, this project explores using Micro-Auctioning technology to create an energy-saving plan with multi-building microgrids. Micro-Auctioning technology is a “buy and sell” method of energy distribution, in which various processes “bid” on energy resources in order to give priority to the most crucial applications.
Paragon has acquired a multitude government contracts in the past, including another one with ESTCP for developing energy generation and consumption controls to improve building energy efficiency. Our engineers work to ensure that our products keep up with vigorous government standards, including 21-CFR logging and monitoring requirements, and top-tier wireless security. Meeting these intense expectations helps us guarantee cutting-edge performance in all of our products, and drives the innovation that keeps Paragon Robotics at the forefront of industry knowledge.
As of October 2021, our teams are currently troubleshooting their alpha prototype, and expect to ship devices to the USAF in early November. These prototypes will be tested on-base in order to further perfect the second round of prototypes, and optimize any circuits; currently, techs are working to optimize the code in order to minimize the directional delay. The process has been majorly effected by the recent parts shortage caused by the pandemic, an issue that has effected companies and manufacturers worldwide.
In late 2020, Paragon Robotics was awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 2 contract with the Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) to design a wireless MIL-STD-1553 interface that would allow the Air Force and other defense branches to fully maintain avionics systems without the need for any cables or custom hardware. The 1553 wireless device will replace test cables that are often expensive, bulky, and fault-prone, contributing to significant sustainment costs and productivity issues.
Paragon Robotics will install refrigeration, freezer, and ambient monitoring systems for sensitive materials in multiple building storage areas and laboratories at the Center for Disease Control’s campus in Atlanta, GA.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) works to protect the health of US citizens, and their Atlanta campus, The National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) specializes in national and international safety against STDs and Tuberculosis. In order to ensure that their laboratories and storage areas are safe and securely monitored, they have partnered with Paragon Robotics to create a campus-wide sensor system that will monitor factors like temperature, humidity, CO2, and door closures throughout the facility 24/7.
